"Writing is challenging.  It is a different sort of challenging.  It is not enough to get it done.  Much to my frustration, I never feel justified crossing it off a to-do list... The way I feel about writing is not, and should not, be static.  I want to have meaning for my audience, to make connections with the people who read my work.  I want it to change people.  Writing takes everything in my metaphorical pantry.  It takes discipline, creativity, determination, courage, a lot of humility and a little bit of arrogance, and the real kicker, patience.  Throw in a dash of faith and maybe something good will happen."
